What We Believe

We believe, teach and confess that salvation is God’s undeserved gift to human beings in his Son Jesus Christ, and that it is received only through faith in Jesus Christ, as the Word of God teaches. We that the Bible is God’s true, inspired, and inerrant Word, and our only infallible guide for faith and Christian living.

More specifically we believe, teach and confess that:

There is one God, who has revealed himself as the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
God created the whole universe and all that exists, including human beings.
Because the first man and woman disobeyed God, all people, except Jesus, are conceived and born in sin. We are sinful by nature, and therefore daily sin much in our thoughts and actions. Because of the guilt of our sin, we are all deserving of God’s wrath and eternal punishment.
God sent his own Son, Jesus Christ, into this world to be the Savior of all people. He lived a perfect life in our place, and he endured the consequences of our sin by his suffering and death on the cross. He thereby paid for the sins of the world and won eternal life for all.
God raised Jesus from the dead and gave us the proof that Jesus had won forgiveness and eternal salvation for all.
Through faith in Jesus as our Savior, we enjoy the forgiveness and salvation he won for us and can be certain that we have eternal life in Jesus.
As believers in Jesus:
- At death, our soul goes to be with God in the perfect bliss of heaven.
- At the end of the world, our bodies will be raised in or transformed to a glorious state, and we will enjoy the perfection of heaven in both body and soul.
Those who do not believe in Jesus as their Savior reject the forgiveness and salvation he won for them and will still have to face God’s eternal punishment for their sins.
